Citizen Sprout has been partnering with Upward Bound House - making and delivering healthy lunches since beginning of the pandemic. UBH provides homeless families with housing and supportive services. Their programs are designed to empower homeless parents and their children to obtain housing stability, build healthy relationships, and enjoy emotional and financial well-being.
When schools closed there were many children in the LAUSD who qualified for free meals at school and as a result were struggling to eat daily.
This pandemic has disproportionately affected lower income families in so many ways and keeping food on the table is just one of them. Citizen Sprout has long been dedicated to providing nutritious meals for kids so we knew this was an area where we could help.
Months later as the pandemic continues and the new school year starts - schools remain closed. Now is the time to help.
UBH currently needs to provide three meals a day to all of their kids and they are struggling to do so with their current resources. With your help, by buying a meal or two here, or by checking the box to add a small donation to your cart whenever you place an order, Citizen Sprout can continue to make and deliver meals to UBH during these difficult time when they are most in need.
